UH Coog Moms Scholarship

 

Congratulations to the 2025-26 Scholarship Recipients!

QUALIFICATIONS:

Student scholarship(s) are based on the following criteria:

  • ​Enroll full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Houston. Incoming freshmen are not eligible to receive the scholarship.

  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

  • One family member must be an active member of Coog Moms as verified by Scholarships and Financial Aid in coordination with Coog Moms.

  • Must submit an essay that addresses the following:
    Describe how this scholarship will benefit you and how you will use your experiences and education from the University of Houston in your life after graduation, including the goals for your future.

  • Must commit to submitting a photo and providing a thank you letter to Donor.

  • The scholarship award is a fixed amount and is to be applied to normal tuition, fees, and books. Each scholarship award should be split equally between the fall and spring semester. Scholarships are not renewable; applicants may re-apply for consideration in the following year. The student must be enrolled in both semesters to receive the full scholarship.

To facilitate the confirmation of your student's eligibility, please be sure you entered their name in the Student section of your Contact Information card in our MTK Coog Moms database. You can access it by clicking the link to sign in on our home page.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS:

The recipient of the scholarship will be determined by the University of Houston Scholarship Selection Committee.

 

The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid oversees the application process. Applicants are encouraged to apply by submitting the UH General Scholarship Application.  Click Here to access the application.

We are excited to announce that the 2026-2027 University of Houston Scholarship Application Portal will be opening soon!

 

Please keep an eye on the student’s official UH email inbox for a notification that will include the link to begin the application process.

 

As part of the application, students will have the opportunity to apply for one of our Coog Mom Scholarships. Please note that a current Coog Mom membership is required for eligibility.

 

We encourage students to apply as early as possible. Although the portal will remain open throughout the year and there is no official deadline, larger awards are typically distributed first—so submitting your application early can make a difference!

 

Important Notes:

 

👉🏼 Be sure to fill in your parents’ names in the application to qualify for the Coog Mom Scholarship.

👉🏼 No denial letters will be issued.

👉🏼 Only selected award recipients will receive an award notification.

👉🏼 Award notifications are expected to be released by May 2026.
